-The mental gymnastics Usopp had put himself through to make it less morally reprehensible for him to enter the ‘love potions and conjures’ section of the store were some of his best work yet. The labels were all so exciting and enticing. Everyone who looks at you, the next person who looks at you, the next time they look at you… Usopp couldn’t help cackling maniacally at the thought that one of these actually would work, even though based on the ingredients list he knew none of them really would. He was still working on a path to turn actually buying and using one from a heinous act into something maybe sort of okay, but he kept coming up short. The more colorful, glittering bottles he took off the shelf and read the effects of, the smaller his smile got, and the heavier his heart seemed to sink in his gut. Make him need you, make her want you, fill them with desire…“I could ask you the same question,” Usopp said, deadpan accusing. Maybe he’d be there for the same thing, but Sanji was an easy target when it came to this kind of thing, and it would be easy to shift attention to his debauchery rather than Usopp’s. “Oh…” Sanji looked around, “I was… where are we? I don’t even know…” he smiled and rubbed the back of his head, feigning ignorance. “Yeah, sure, let’s go,” Usopp put his hands on Sanji’s shoulders and spun him around to shove him out of the store before he could touch anything. “Ugh! It’s not what you think, long-nose! I would never, I just—,” “Yeah, yeah,” “W-what! What kind of— he’s— he’s a he! I’m a he!” Usopp flailed. “Okay, fine,” Nami looked away. “My bad, I just noticed the way you look at him sometimes,” Nami shrugged. “I don't think it would be so strange.” Usopp remembered noticing the way she looked at Vivi, and having come to a similar conclusion about Nami's feelings for the princess of Alabasta. By that logic, Nami noticing or catching onto his little crush made a little more sense than anyone else.. She probably understood in a way the rest of them wouldn’t.-Sanji appeared behind him, and Usopp started to feel nervous again. His previous suspicion that these people weren’t his crew started to return, and that made Sanji the most suspicious of all, but— —that couldn’t be right. The man standing behind him, who’d just placed his hand on his shoulder, was definitely Sanji. If it hadn’t been, Usopp wouldn’t have relaxed upon feeling his touch. “Sanji, listen for a second,” Usopp took Sanji’s hand in his. If this Sanji was his, and this Sanji loved him, if he could lead this Sanji around the way a beautiful woman would be able to, then so be it. -“What? You’ve been taking snacks to bed? Have I not been feeding you enough?” Sanji was whispering too but the concern in his tone was both endearing and annoying because Usopp was trying to much a much more important point. “No— well, yes, but that’s not the point. The point is: I remember this. Last night, I remember being here, eating quietly so Luffy didn’t hear me and try to take my food. It’s clear as day in my mind and the evidence is right here too,” -“That’s my evidence,” Sanji said, and nuzzled his nose and cheek against the side of Usopp’s nose. Usopp’s heart was beating a dozen miles a minute but he needed to focus. “I’m sorry, but that’s not good enough in the face of this,”
-Come on Usopp, I’ll protect you,” Sanji drawled, sounding irritated but saying words that made Usopp’s heard skip so many beats he probably could have died due to lack of bloodflow. Unable to handle it, he actually fell to his hands and knees.-The sooner we help Nami and Robin, the sooner we get back to the ship, the sooner I get to do terrible things to you.”Usopp choked, tripped over nothing, and fell flat on his face.
"I'm going to die," Usopp mumbled into the snow, not moving.
"Not until after I get you naked," Sanji was clearly enjoying himself, and grabbed Usopp by his forearm to pull him up. Once Usopp was on his feet, he waited a moment for him to gather himself.
"Can you not say sexy things until we get back?" Usopp begged weakly.
"Of course," Sanji said, grinning, "anything for you."
Usopp's heart started to pound against his rip cage in a way that shook and nearly disabled his entire body. Unable to take another step, he laid down in the snow again, and Sanji made a surprised, confused noise. Usopp didn't say anything, but after a moment, Sanji got down on his knees and laid down next to him.
"Want me to stay a minute?"
"No," Usopp huffed, "forever."
Sani laughed. "Okay."
