Small hands yank me down off of him, and I fall backward, instinctively, unhesitatingly into Jay’s arms. She sets me on the ground and lightly boops me on the nose before smiling happily at me.
“We can’t go smothering him just yet! You can do that after my sword lessons.” (Shanks sputters angrily in the background (“they just tried to kill me? And you fucking boop their nose??”)

In the aquatic island, Luffy sees potential in Y/n, who is a swordswoman. At first, she was not convinced, but the pay was high enough to accept, for personal reasons.
Zoro didn't like Y/n at all. He felt Luffy was doing this to betray him, because he thought it wasn't useful anymore.
Every day, he challenges her to a sword fight to earn his rightful spot back.
