Impulsively reserving a spot for a month-long backpacking trek was not something that fit into the normalcy of your typical 9-5 workaholic lifestyle, but why did it feel so right? Nothing else seemed to scream, "quarter life crisis" quite like this. Excited was an understatement, you would never have been able to anticipate the friendships you were about to be thrown into. Neither could your trip guide. Neither of you knew what was coming but it sure was about to knock you both out of the sense of normalcy you were both so accustomed to.

Summary
Neuvillette may not understand his emotions too well, but he knows he loves Wriothesley. If Wriothesley loves him, that is a whole different question. He doesn't quite believe it to be so, at least. After all, he isn't human. And even though the people of Fontaine at large accept him, experiences of the past make him wary and hesitate to reveal too much of himself.
And as if the prophecy hadn't been big enough of a problem, he now has to navigate the consequences of regaining his full authority. And just when things finally seem to go the way he wants them to go, happy with the man he loves, everything seems to go awry again.
Saving the life of a heavily injured Wriothesley and creating a one-sided mating bond to do so is probably the least of his new problems.
