To encourage the rest of Destiny's crew to fall into line with their Lucian Alliance captors, Rush was publicly raped and degraded for three days as the crew was forced to watch. Kiva offered to spare Rush's life if one of the crew would also rape Rush. Colonel Young won't let anyone else bear that dark mark on their soul, so he agrees. They'll need Rush to take back the ship. And he's not willing to see the man dead.
Now the Alliance has Destiny, the military are imprisoned while Kiva decides their fate, and Rush is freed to return to work.
If that dead-eyed, silent shaken man is still Rush.

Easy one of the best and most notable fanfictions in the fandom. Vargas follows its namesake- Edgar Vargas - through at lest two different deaths, hanging out with Johnny and Todd/Squee and his constant bickering with a split personality. Easily one of the most deeply fucked up things psychologically speaking, Vargas will leave you navel gazing for at least a solid thirty seconds- or your money back.
