Mito, Narumi, and Naruto were triplets born on the night of the Nine-Tails’ attack. In a desperate bid to save the village, Minato sealed one half of the Nine-Tails into Mito and the other half into Narumi. Sometime later, Jiraiya returned with a prophecy delivered by the Elder Toads—one that spoke of great calamity and salvation. Believing the prophecy referred to their children, Minato and Kushina made a painful decision.
Not heeding to Hiruzen’s warnings, they chose to leave the village for several years, taking Mito and Narumi with them to train.
