Summary
Some people believed in fate. Others dismissed the Marks as a silly superstition and attempts to find meaning where there was merely coincidence. Yet others considered it a useful suggestion and tended not to look a gift horse in the mouth, or treated the matter with pure logic and science and did not always abide by it.
Julian and Garak were both glad not to know who their soulmate was. No soulmate meant no liability. No one to inquire about their past. No one to complicate things.
Only, things did tend to get complicated anyway.

It took a while for the ship to answer, but answer they did. Two men of a species Stede was unfamiliar with popped up on the screen, looking rather confused. He put on his best scary voice and said, ‘Surrender! You have no chance of escape!’
Or: Stede is a human from a cushy Federation colony, stuck in an unhappy marriage and a boring life. He runs off to become a space pirate with a bunch of weirdoes he collects on the way, and then an unfortunate incident with some Klingons almost costs him his life, but fortunately for him, the infamous Blackbeard saves his life. And sticks around. -

Summary
Crowley winced and turned around. He squinted at the King of Hell and his two-day stubble and expensive suit and bloody audacity. His Hell-trained survival instincts really didn’t like this.
That ancient part of him who’s known this man-shaped being since he was a hatchling filed away his escape plan for later, however.
Or: Crowley and Lucifer are siblings, and sure, they’re not exactly on speaking terms now, but that doesn’t stop Lucifer from knocking on Crowley and Aziraphale’s door on a Sunday morning, asking for help. Needless to say, it doesn’t go exactly as planned…

Din Djarin thinks of the Armorer's words often enough that he has memorized them: "By Creed, until it is of age or reunited with its own kind, you are as its father. This is the Way." And Grogu is with his own kind. Din is no longer as his father. This is the Way.
Din wishes that he was the Jedi. He wishes he could pour himself into the Jedi and live his life with Grogu. He can't stop thinking about the Jedi.
