“This is going to break these damn extras.” Izuku sighed, but before he could start his argument, Katsuki went on. “They will never be able to go back to their regular innocent lives, we are going to devastate them, Izuku.”
“I know!” He tried hard not to shout, but the words just forced their way out. “I know.” He repeated, calmer. “But we have to do this. We have to. They have spent their whole lives cushioned and coddled by the good side of quirk society.”
Katsuki’s jaw was so tight, Izuku swore his teeth must be aching from the force of it. When he spoke, he did so through his teeth with pain clear on his features.
“You get it, don’t you; what you’re asking me to do? Izuku I-...you’re asking me to hurt you again. You’re asking me to be your abuser, again.”

OR: My take on 'Compassion Week' - where the hero students have to do presentations on why a villain might become a villain. Izuku and Katsuki decide to pick Quirklessness, and their presentation is...enlightening.

He’s a little thing, maybe four or five years old if she had to guess, and that would be concerning enough considering he’s alone in the woods, a quarter of the way up a mountain and at least a mile away from civilization all by his lonesome. But Nami’s always been the observant type of person; had to be, to get by for most of her life, and to be a good navigator, and this kid? This kid is setting off all the warning bells in her mind. Not the kid himself, mind you; but at all the little details that are telling her that he really should not be here.
When Law goes missing during a stop on a quiet, out-of-the-way island, the Hearts and the visiting Straw Hats immediately drop everything to find him. But instead of the captain, they find a small boy with a familiar face who just wants to go home.
As investigations into the strange nature of the island and what has happened bear fruit, both crews are left with the uncomfortable realization that they don't know how to predict how or if Law will be able to return.

“We will keep her inheritance safe, we thought about selling the house when we move back to Hershey. We can put it in her college funds,” Margaret affirms, and Buck just sits there silently accepting the blows. He knows it was coming, he knows his parents were planning to take Jee-Yun back.
Of course they weren’t going to uproot their lives, and Jee was still young enough to be able to relocate somewhere.
“A guardian is indeed allowed to keep her inheritance safe,” Their lawyer affirms, before glancing at Buck for a second. “But you haven’t been appointed her guardians in the will, he has,” She continues, gesturing to Buck. And oh…. that wasn’t what he expected.
“What?”
Or: When Chimney and Maddie are presumed dead, Buck gets appointed as Jee-Yun's guardian. On top of dealing with losing his sister and brother-in-law, he has to look after his niece and put up with his parents constantly pressuring him to give Jee to them.

Buck didn't know how he got from struggling with a particular joke at work and trying to be in tune with his feelings about it, to confiding in Eddie, to then Eddie cutting him off and looking at him like he was a disgusting freak.
He would like a refund for the past 24 hours, please and thank you.
With one of his best friendships imploding, a ladder truck exploding seems about par for the course. It does put things into perspective, though. And it's not a nice view.

“And while I really don’t feel like going... I guess I should.” Jack sighed, fiddling with the invitation, and then he looked at Mac with hesitation. “Would you come with me? I know you’re not into parties, but... it’s gonna be so awkward and it wouldn’t be half as bad if had someone to talk to while I’m there.”
Mac instantly felt like somebody grabbed his heart and squeezed it hard, and he had to work to keep his anxiety off his face. Sweat broke out on the back of his neck and he took a deep, settling breath, trying to keep his cool. He was torn, because on the one had he hated parties for a reason that Jack could never, ever find out about, but on the other hand... it was Jack, who Mac had ridiculous non-platonic feelings for.
“Sure, Jack, of course,” he managed to say, swallowing down his queasiness.
(Or the one where Mac hates parties for a very good reason, comes face-to-face with that reason again, and then his wildest dream comes true.)
