Shinichi grabs Kuroba’s jacket and starts yanking him toward the group, ignoring his annoyed muttering. In Kuroba’s defense, he’s very good at looking reassuring. It’s just a lot less effective when he’s standing next to the corpse.

It's a Sunday morning and Blue steps into the train car, but he isn't alone.
Two panthers slink in shoulder to shoulder. One of them sprawls out in her accustomed spot; the other, taller one sits prim and proper beside her, and snorts. "You know you're not supposed to block half the aisle, right?"
The shorter one curls up her lip to flash fangs. "I'm not? Well, fuck then, I've been doing it all wrong." She stretches her legs out a couple inches further.
"Sometimes I'd almost think you were raised by wild beasts."
The orange-haired man snorts, lips curved up just a bit at the corners, and he sits besides Blue with his elbow sticking out for a solid nudge. Blue sneers, and dang if it doesn't feel like he should flash fangs too. "Don't you start in on me, Kurosaki. I'll chuck you out on the rails, see if I don't."
Both apparently-Kurosakis laugh, low and unexpectedly politely quiet. Gorō notes the name in a corner of his mind by pure professional habit.
"Of course I was raised by wild beasts," Blue finishes, entirely deadpan. Both Kurosakis snort. "I am a wild beast."

There was another student here.
Tom recognized him vaguely—while transfer students were not necessarily uncommon due to the war, they were rare enough to at least make an impression. This particular transfer student was in his year, sorted into Ravenclaw after an impressively long hat stall. He looked like he might be descended from the Potter line, but he did not share the surname so his lineage was of no particular interest to Tom. Nothing about him was of particular interest to Tom, in fact, and yet here he stood, holding the book that Tom had come here to find.
It would be a good time to turn away. The Restricted Section was restricted for a reason—only books documenting extremely dangerous or extremely advanced magic were stored here.
Tom’s feet, however, suddenly felt as if they were made of lead. It wasn’t magic keeping him tied down, but something far more mysterious like curiosity or even fate. In any case, the delay was all it took for the Ravenclaw to lift his chin and meet Tom’s eyes.
This Ravenclaw, Tom realized, had eyes as blindingly green as the Killing Curse.

The Ghost Valley has sent a letter past its borders, asking to attend the Heroes Conference of the Five Lakes Alliance. The Five Lakes Alliance, unbelievably, has accepted. Both no doubt have hidden intentions, and Prince Jin wants eyes and ears on the scene. Zhou Zishu can't quite bring himself to deny his own ravenous curiosity enough not to accept.
The stunning beauty that shows up with the girls of the Department of the Unfaithful, the one who introduces himself as Wen Kexing, is universally assumed to be a favorite plaything of the yet unseen Ghost Valley Master. His beauty and charm may be enough to captivate all the others into underestimating him, but Zhou Zishu knows a killer's eyes when he sees one. Wen Kexing is a puzzle he'd like to figure out, and Zishu himself can't say he isn't also captivated by dark eyes and a smile that wouldn't be out of place with blood in its teeth.

Once upon a time, before Jazz was born, the Rust Sea covered a swathe of Cybertron bigger than the territory of any city-state except Iacon. The sea had been more powerful than any engine besides the one at the heart of the planet itself, big enough to swallow a metrotitan in its depths, the birthplace of storms.
Thing is, none of that was Jazz. He doesn’t remember those days, before he was himself, except in his dreams.
And his dreams are terrifying.
