When asked about support systems for Hollander following his trade to Ottawa, Pike appeared to begin saying "Shane's—" before abruptly stopping himself and substituting "Shane's rival, Rozanov," in reference to the well-documented on-ice rivalry between Hollander and Boston captain Ilya Rozanov.
The 30-year-old defenseman then launched into what observers are calling an "increasingly frantic" explanation of the Hollander-Rozanov rivalry, complete with nervous laughter and visible perspiration.
"I was going to say Rozanov," Pike insisted when pressed on the awkward pause. "Obviously. Since we were just playing Boston last week, and Shane always—he's very focused on beating Boston. Because of the rivalry. The hockey rivalry. That they have. In hockey."
Where Hayden says something he didn't mean to, and chaos ensues.

Hayden keeps mindlessly scrolling Instagram—a pantomime of paying attention, not really taking in anything that’s passing across his screen. Mind racing as a series of realizations wash over him.
Christ, no wonder Shane was so cagey about Lily. No wonder he didn’t want to introduce her to the guys.
Hayden would like to believe that everyone would be chill with it, but he could think of at least five guys off the top of his head that would a hundred percent take issue with Shane dating a trans woman. He can imagine, far too easily, the kind of slurs that would get thrown around the locker room if anyone ever found out. Momo wasn't sure why it came as such a shock to her and her classmates that nitroglycerin was not, in fact, easy to control. The chemical was defined by it's instability, it's ability to go off under near any circumstances, it's powerful blows.
And yet, Katsuki had always made it look so simple. He soared through the air like it was nothing, switching between bullet-sized blasts and missile levels of firepower like most people switched channels on TV. Momo had found herself jealous of his quirk at times, unable to help wondering what it would be like to have such power at her fingertips.
Good news, she didn't have to wonder anymore. Bad news, it was absolutely terrible.
