      Takes over the different side of DeanDeath, of the connection to Death rather than being Death
      This kind of fic, it's exactly the sort of thing I had in mind when thinking of the connection part for the tag.
      The whole soul colors and shit? That's an extra unrelated thing I love here as well.

       

      This does make me curious if I should add a tag for reincarnation. It would cover a lot, in some fics the boys went through reincarnation several times, as other humans as well. In some Dean was some thing or another (I recall one where he was Loki's love Sigyn or smth, forgot her name, another in which he was a Goddess, etc), some in which he was Something, as in Death, an Angel etc.
      Would I consider these reincarnation as well? As technically they fit. But it also feels too.. vague? Fits too much. Hmm. Doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing, just another filter I guess?
      Dean doesn't need to remember the previous lives, but they also can't just be a short mention as in oh yeah they lived other lives before.
      In a short fic it's understandable there won't be a lot of it, but again not just a plain mention. I'll know if it fits or doesn't.
      Also, can be focused on the other lives, with the 'canon' (or canon-like) life being the vague mention, as it does focus in the other lives.
      Fuck it, going for it. There's plenty of fics that would probably fit, but shrug too late now.
      Oh and of course, dying and coming back isn't reincarnation. Reincarnation as in literally being reborn as a new being, just the same soul y'know. He may still be the same/similar in nature as it is still his SOUL, but still a new life, after he dies.
      Fallen Angel goes here rarely, when I can really acknowledge it as reincarnation rather than Falling to be born as human, as it’ll be too much in this tag otherwise

      Same thing like with God's Chosen, usually I go for original tags, but as it capitalized as I wanted, and only has one singular fic tagged with it, which is also supernatural, I don't mind.

      I do want to be somewhat certain of the reincarnation, Dean being something else doesn't mean always there was reincarnation. Example I recall a fic in which Dean, Sam, Castiel and Crowley are Horsemen. It very vaguely implies maybe reincarnation of sorts, but I'm incredibly uncertain of it and would absolutely not include it under this tag.
      Doesn't mean reincarnation needs to be stated; authors are talented enough to get the point across without always writing it. Just needs to be somewhat obvious for me, not something you gotta read deep deep between the lines

       

      Somehow my ass missed this was over 10k words, I thought it was 1.5k words. I am incredibly glad because this is fascinating
      I'm adoring this fic, it's incredible
      I do wish the fic was slightly more refined, but with it being a 2014 fic it's understandable. Some spelling errors, and confusing words that don't quite match the content, as well as brief moments of First POV, but it's all manageable for the experience of this fic

       

      Huh. Father and son... In some ways, it fits. Huh.

      The Soul Piece by cloudyjenn

       

      Mary briefly meets Cas and knows (actual) angels(minus s) are watching over Dean - never mind, make that the first meeting. I absolutely love their meetups. Just. Adorable. The relationship of Cas with the Winchester family, even though John is kinda unaware (As Mary and Dean can See and Hear Cas, while other hoomans including John can't, I'll mark it as Dean Sight). The photographs. The small gifts. It's so fucking adorable.
      I am incredibly worried though. I feel like Cas being kidnapped and tortured for a while was a part of an experiment from Zacharia. He is.. too interested in the connection Dean and Cas have. And his comment afterwards makes me feel like something is off about it.
      It's interesting to see how the other Angels react. Anna, understandable. She was jealous and was already close to Falling. Uriel.. we know he doesn't like humans. Zacharia.. cold interest, that's a bad thing. Cas knows to be in the lookout, but it won't be enough I think. Israfel on the other hand is very sweet. Watching over Dean for Cas while he was away, being interested in Dean and stuff about him even afterwards. Very cute.

      Also the thing about Demons getting stronger while Angels are getting weaker..... My brain is wondering if it might be something regarding the Soul Pieces. I mean Demons were humans, and all humans have these Soul Pieces. It could remain even afterwards?
      And maybe Cas gaining a Soul Piece is the beginning? To help Angels? Idk just a theory.

      Also for Dean, I'm fairly sure the long term one, the one Cas originally thought is for a Partner, is Sammy. I am uncertain about the short yet meaningful relationship Soul Piece one.

He gets a full ride and heads off to Stanford, keeping sort of in touch with Dean (they see each other every six months). Eventually Dean and John just go their separate ways, their hunting styles are too different. Dean is a damn good hunter, but word is slowly leaking out that he occasionally lets monsters go, other hunters start to distrust him. He lets a vampire Lenore go, and Gordon Walker beats the hell out of him. Dean is alone, tired, and a little broken and sitting in The Roadhouse when a stranger offers him a very strange job.
