Summary
The night was still, except for the faint hiss of Obanai’s snake shifting along his shoulders. Shinobu could hear it even over the chorus of insects that always seemed to sing louder in her presence, as though mocking the way she bore their name. She sat a little distance away from him on the engawa, legs tucked neatly beneath her, the wooden planks warm from the day’s sun but cooling quickly in the night air.
Neither of them spoke at first. They rarely needed to. It was strange, she thought, how silence with most people felt suffocating, but with him it was.. honest. Heavy, yes, but unforced.

Summary
Obanai paused near the edge of the dock, fishing rod balanced in his hand, and took it all in.
He hadn’t been fishing in a long time. Long enough that the place felt both familiar and distant, like something he remembered more with his body than his mind. The way the quiet pressed in. The way the world seemed to narrow to water and sky and whatever waited beneath the surface.
He adjusted his grip, fingers tightening and loosening as if testing himself.
“Didn’t think you’d get here before me.”
Sanemi’s voice cut through the stillness, rough but low, like he was careful not to disturb it too much.

Pandora, with her opal eyes and eccentric charm, had captured Lily's heart in a way no spell ever could, Lily knew that it wasn’t right, Pandora deserved more than her. She couldn’t keep Pandora, at least not in the way she wanted. So she’ll settle for having her like this. This was something that she had decided to herself months ago, but after all, Lily is a weak, weak, woman.

Maybe the reason why his eyes hurt so much is because the sun is staring right back at him, taunting him with its burning, burning rays. His retinas hurt. They shouldn’t, right? That’s bad, right? Scott doesn’t know—if he knew he’d probably stop staring at the sun, or maybe he wouldn’t, maybe he’d keep begging, anyway. It doesn’t hurt to try. Curling vines wrap around his hands and feet before pulling him closer to the ground. The prickly vines weep with him, drawing tears of a crimson red liquid from his skin. It hurts, but what doesn’t at this point? At least the thorns understand his pain.

It’s not his eyesight that tells him who this is—it’s the aching chill of their armor, it’s the soothing voice curling around his body, it’s the calloused hands gently pulling back the thorny vines cutting his skin, it’s the faint smell of smoke and cinnamon hanging around them like a brand. “Nom…?” Scott hears himself ask, his voice broken and quiet as a whisper muffled against the fabric of Nom’s shirt where his chest plate has been discarded.

“Well,” Scott winces as his cramps seize up again. “Actually, I might just stay at the base for today. Do some farming? Maybe move some things around, make the area look cuter. It’s kind of my whole schtick.” He gestures vaguely, hoping his smile is more convincing than it feels.
Impulse gives him a concerned look.
Probably not, then.
“Are you okay? You look a bit pale.”
“You do?” Gem asks, alarmed, immediately facing him with cheeks puffed out like a chipmunk’s. Scott laughs lightly, and she quickly swallows her food. “You do.”
Or: Scott is on his period without painkillers. Luckily, he has two bandmates willing to do anything to help him feel better, including retrieving his boyfriends for a much needed cuddle session.
