In self destruction he once again yanked at his hair, and used the other hand to pick up his phone, his body forcibly finding the "Lily" contact automatically and pressing call.

Shane Hollander drops HARD, after a quick departure from Ilya's house in Boston after some tuna melts, and sex, followed by an emotional overload of first name basis.
Ilya is not feeling any better himself, however pulls himself together pretty quick after calling Shane to remind him of his forgotten wallet, and instead hears the state of Shane's sobbing.

Hiccup was just that. A hiccup. No matter how hard he tried and fought he just couldn’t be who his father wanted. Who the village wanted. He couldn’t fight dragons, he couldn’t even fight off other kids his age. So when he shot down that dragon he had hoped that maybe he could do something right. Something to make his dad proud. The village proud. But, as always there was a hiccup in his plan. That hiccup just so happens to be a 26 foot long, 2,000 pound, Night Fury. No matter how hard he willed his hand to slice the dragon he just couldn’t. Not when his eyes had shown more understanding than his entire village. Now, Hiccup has a reason to leave Berk. A reason to make new someplace safer for him and toothless both. They deal with the Red Death quickly, using Gobbers forge to melt together a halfway decent leg, and finally finding a home with a new, safe, nest. He just didn’t expect to catch the attention of some dragon hunters who seem dead set on adopting him into their tribe. Hiccup just wants his family safe.

It all seems like too much for Macklin, especially when he hides the pain. Macklin refuses to be seen as weak; what the team doesn't know won't hurt them. Will especially doesn't need to know what goes on in Macklin's mind.

And he would've been happy, really, to have set it aside completely. Well, maybe not completely.
But it could've been one of those scenarios that stayed in his head and was useful for when they hadn't seen each other in weeks and Shane was driven to using his dildo and trying desperately to replicate the motions that were really awkward to perform on yourself, actually. It could've been something to drive him over the edge, quickly, right when he needed it, in the privacy of his own mind.
Ilya using Shane for his own pleasure, no matter what they were doing. Ilya getting what he needed from the interaction and then just stopping, sated. And that would've been fine, because then they wouldn't have had to address it, and Shane could've felt mildly guilty for having such odd desires, but he was used to being strange, strange and aware of it, always. So, fine.
Or: Shane wants something he feels he definitely shouldn't; Ilya is highly enthusiastic about the prospect of his boyfriend being into free use. Over time, they figure it out.
