Summary
The diagnosis took 10 years. 10 years of unknowns, constant pain, and being told to push through it.
It all seems like too much for Macklin, especially when he hides the pain. Macklin refuses to be seen as weak; what the team doesn't know won't hurt them. Will especially doesn't need to know what goes on in Macklin's mind.

Hayden had expected this remark to piss Marleau off, but instead his grin only widened until the slightest hint of straight white teeth peeked out. “Thanks. The guy who gave it to me was a scrappy little thing.”

Summary
Mack is tearing up the NHL, despite the fact that some people think he shouldn't be there at all, thanks to his dynamic. He's defying the expectations set for omegas, and has quickly become the MVP of the Sharks.
Things are going great, until one game, one of the alphas on the other team scruffs and commands him, sending him into a stress heat. He's far from home and only has what's in the hotel room to get through it.
