"What do you mean just hang – was that a pun," Mike sputters, clutching onto Spiderman for dear life as they swing through the city, and he can hear the superhero laugh through the racing wind in his ears, the rumble of it under Mike’s arm wrapped around his middle.
In a city of superheroes, Mike keeps running into Spiderman, much to his dismay.

Will’s smiling, now, looking reassured. And Mike’s saying it for El’s sake, but also Will’s. Max’s. Eddie’s, too. Everyone who’s been hurt by this monster, who won’t be able to sleep at night with even the slimmest chance that he might still be out there.
He has to do something. And until there’s a better plan, or more information to go off of, this is the only option.
He puts his hand out above the table. “Everyone in?”
Lucas, looking determined, slaps his palm on top of Mike’s. Then Will. Then, when there’s only one of them left, they turn to look at Dustin.
Dustin’s mouth twitches to the side. His torn Hellfire shirt ripples in the late-autumn breeze. “I want to see Vecna’s heart on a platter,” he says. His voice is low, almost scarily detached. Like he has nothing left to lose. “Just wish I could do it myself.”

Summary
If anyone were to ask Kaveh what he thought of it, he’d tell them that the idea of fate and some form of destiny is so fantastically wrought from the barest bones of the Inazuman film and fiction industry, so dreadfully unappetizing even for the most imaginative, and so horrendously shackling for those who attempt to breathe vibrancy and life into every project they take on. All that to say that Kaveh has never, perhaps contradictorily, quite believed in the idea of soulmates.
What even was a soulmate, anyway? Could it be their constance in someone’s life? Could it be the tension, or the snap of inhibitions? Could it be the shared dinners, the common interests, the laughter that blooms naturally?

Summary
The sun rose slowly, shining light into the dirty cell. Dirty was the right word- the entire space was covered in it. The stone floor, the metal bars, the teeny tiny window ledge, the air -even- was thick with it. The prisoner inside was not an exception, his skin was dark with dirt and sweat from the hot and humid daytime climate of the island prison. He didn’t seem bothered by this, though, because he was used to it. It turns out two weeks was all it took to adjust to being coated in dirt.
“Happy birthday to me…” Harry muttered to himself and he drew in the dirt. He was not a good singer but he wasn’t singing sincerely either. It was a mockery of a celebration. The picture he drew was simplistic but clear- a birthday cake with 18 candles. “Happy birthday to me… Happy birthday dear Harry… Happy birthday to me…”
“You can’t recover from all of your mistakes, Malfoy,” Potter said gravely.
Draco looked him in the eyes. He could feel a frown on his face when he replied, similarly sincere. “I do not care. I have a family to serve.”

I came for a side dish but this fic is the whole buffet :) Every scene creates weight to the stakes and progresses both the story and cast. It’s a slow build; every chapter adds a log to the pile which burns beautifully in the end. I stg I came to this fandom w zero expectations and this fic is just SO well done, definitely gotta reread in a couple months :D
