The lookscreen he is looking at is not his. The phone he's holding is his exact model, so it can't be Rozanov's, — that guy has some random Samsung for some reason — so the only phone he could be holding right now… is Jane's.
And look, he didn't plan on unlocking it. It would be wrong to encroach on someone's privacy like that when he had already noticed that it wasn't his phone. But unlocking his phone had become muscle memory at some point, and it's not his fault that Jane doesn't have a password.

He was bracing for a chirp, so this plain statement threw him off. "Yeah, I guess.”

"That we're going to destroy them.” Rozanov stalled his restless circles to lock eyes with Shane, and the whole arena fell away. "You and me, we will be incredible.”

When Shane finds a massive withdrawal in their bank account and a listing for a five-bedroom house in another city, he naturally assumes the worst. He spends weeks spiraling, waiting for Ilya to confess, until the pressure finally snaps over a stupid fight about almond milk.
Ilya, meanwhile, absolutely refuses to let his boyfriend go to work angry. Even if it means storming the Montreal Voyageurs' locker room, dragging his captain away, and causing an NHL-wide PR crisis to prove how much he loves him.
