Summary
Holmes ducked his head to my neck and I felt the scrape of ceramic fangs across my skin, the puffs of breath as he spoke.
“One single bite and you would be mine.”
He softly bit at my throat again. I said nothing, but I tilted my head towards him, to feel more of his touch. Had he raised his head, I would have found it impossible not to kiss him. Holmes scraped his fangs across my throat one more time, and I believe I moaned at the sensation and a particular heat pooled low in my belly.
“Are you in my thrall, John Watson?”

It was a wild morning in October, and I observed as I was dressing how the last remaining leaves were being whirled from the solitary plane tree which graces the yard behind our house.

But, when his pocket is picked, Holmes spots a business opportunity that might just help to revitalise his flagging fortunes.

John Watson is ultimately a creature of instinct, of acting first and thinking later. Several times while out with me he has noticed someone following us not from the logical signs of their movement but from an uneasy sort of feeling, a prickle on the back of his neck.
This is why it is so extraordinary that, in our early days, he never seemed to notice the way I watched him.
