When you really think about it, would you really rather speak or die? Regulus, hearing this for the first time, would rather die than speak. The reaction he got from others after saying this was expected. Why? Why speak, knowing that when he finally does, the people around him won't really want to be around him anymore? It sounds childish, really, when you think about it. What can he say that makes him want to rather die than to speak? Everything, really: his brother, his five- year-long crush on his brother's best friend, the fact that his parents used him as a replacement for his older brother, the fact that he's queer. Also, the fact that sometimes he thinks about killing himself; but nonetheless, he would rather kill himself.

Remus gave James a bemused look. “You think the password ought to be, I, a Marauder, solemnly—”
“I, a veritable Maruader of the highest order,” James corrected.
“All right, you think it should be, I, a veritable Marauder of the highest order, solemnly swear that… er…What was the rest of it?”
“What a stupid password,” Sirius interjected before James could offer Remus the rest. “How about just, I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
“Fine,” said James begrudgingly, “but we need a password to clear the map off, too. How about, I hereby proclaim that—”
“How about, Mischief managed,” Remus interrupted.
James frowned. “I dunno…where’s the ceremony? Where’s the flair?”

1971 is the year of beginnings - it is the year that heralds the beginning of the friendship that will change the world forever. Four mismatched boys take the Hogwarts Express to begin their first year at the magical boarding school, unaware that they will be the ones to play arguably the most significant roles in the Wizarding War blossoming on the horizon. However, while James, Sirius, Remus and Peter are still trapped in their childish world, unaware of what they are about to do, the dark thoughts at the back of Severus' mind begin to stir and Lily soon realises that not every friendship is based on truth. But when the foundation of lies threatens to crumble beneath her feet, the one she has long loathed lends her a hand and perhaps Lily can admit to herself that she has been wrong about more than one boy.
This is a very, very long fanfic, that I´ve been working on since 2022. My first language is german, so thats what I wrote it in, but I´ll be starting to slowly translate it to english, so I can garner a broader audience. Sorry for any mistakes, I guess, as I refuse to learn the english grammar lol. F*ck JKR, she is a TERF and i hate her. Trans rights are human rights!!

He finds himself in a position that forces him to do the thing he so afraid of, and after encountering with a complicated situation, he is sent to therapy despite his own unwillingness and even a few of his relative's. Why would he need that? He doesn't consider himself worth analysing, he has it all 'figured out': he has a quite decent life, with a couple of issues, but who doesn't? He is reluctant to do so: talk. Until he meets with someone that might change that.
