San remembered the first time Yeosang got sick.
It was spring — the kind of spring that only old money could afford. Warm air drifting through lace curtains, fresh flowers delivered from the countryside, polished floors and laughter that echoed through marble halls like music.
Yeosang had been in the music room that day, sitting at the grand piano with his back to the light. He always looked a little too ethereal in that room, like something that belonged in oil paint. San had walked in quietly, just to watch — like he always did.
Then Yeosang coughed.
Just once. Short, delicate. He even smiled afterward, hand fluttering to his chest like it was nothing.
San had smiled back. Teased him about dusty rooms and delicate lungs. Kissed the top of his head and moved on.
They never spoke of it.
But then it happened again. And again.

Wooyoung didn’t really feel guilty for hurting himself per say. His guilt had been only for the pain he had caused everyone else. When his mother had cried, when his baby brother had climbed into his lap silently, too young to understand what was wrong with Wooyoung but old enough to get it was something bad, when Jongho would only look at him with wide terrified eyes like he didn’t know who he was, when Mingi had refused to leave his side for even a second and screamed at anyone who tried to convince him to do so, when Hongjoong of all people had cried….. he knew he had to stop.
The problem was that he just didn't want to.

Wooyoung feels like he can’t breathe all of a sudden. The air feels a little too heavy to draw in, a little too suffocating. A little too much. His hands grip the white sheets, and he tries to ground himself and get rid of the haze clouding his eyes as he stares down at his legs.
It’s way too much, since when has he been taking up this much space? Why hadn't anyone told him? It’s definitely too much, way too much. He feels heavy, like his legs wouldn’t be able to keep him up steady with all this weight. Too much. Too heavy, too scarred—not scarred enough. Not perfect enough, never enough, never—
“Young-ah?”
It’s automatic, mechanical, Wooyoung’s hands come up to grasp his shirt and pull it down to cover up as much of his naked skin as he can when he hears Seonghwa’s voice coming from the door. His scars are out of sight before he looks up to meet his boyfriend’s worried gaze where he stands still at the door frame, eyes flying from Wooyoung’s body to his face.
