Summary
In another life, Orochimaru never leaves Konoha, opting to remain within the village that equally reveres and reviles him. Fighting a bitter battle against forces within the village that are more influential and well-positioned, he finds himself gifted with one last shining opportunity: three children, a team of genin, handed to him because Konoha has no better choice. Orochimaru agrees to become a jounin-sensei for the first and the last time, taking on the next generation's Team Seven: Uchiha Sasuke, Nara Shikamaru, and Uzumaki Naruto.
[ A gradual exploration of the author's very liberal Naruto headcanon, with a good!Orochimaru (well, sorta good) who eventually becomes the Godaime Hokage. Lots of chakra theory, cool jutsu, in-depth backstories, character development, political intrigue, and den mother Orochimaru feels! Also featuring: BAMF baby Team 7! Yoongi opened the sliding door to a bedroom that was… far more spacious than anything Jungkook had expected. It comfortably housed two twin-sized beds, two desks, two closets, and a large glass window looking out onto what he realized was a large backyard full of trees. There was empty shelving space above the desks, though Jungkook was a little confused what they were for. A door at the other end of the room was partly ajar, tiles visible on the floor.
If Jungkook was impressed then Namjoon was floored, the rat holding his breath as he looked around. “Are you sure t-this is ours? We’re not going to be locked in cages?”
Yoongi’s ears went flat against his hair, and he sighed. “No cages. This is your room, for as long as you need it.”

The door thudded open and the Marauders burst in, late and pink-cheeked with cold. The headmaster smiled at them, too, and Sirius gave a cheery little salute back.
Severus sunk lower in his chair, staring witheringly over his butterbeer. "You told Potter about it, too?"
"He might as well put all that energy to good use," said Lily. "And, to be accurate, I told Remus."
"But Potter, really?" said Severus.
"He and Black cooked up a jinx that gives you a boil every time you say a slur to a Muggleborn," said Lily. "It was either invite them to Alice's war club or bake them cookies, and I know where my skills lie."
Severus sniffed. "Don't come crying to me if he tugs your pigtails."
"Come crying to me if he pulls yours, and I'll deck him," said Lily.

A Hobbit wouldn't be able to tell a diamond from a pearl, or from an Arkenstone - no matter how hard they try.
This leads to some confusion, on Bilbos part. And some frustration, again on Bilbos part.
