Summary
“Your libido,” she says plainly. “It tends to rise around this time of the year. Unless something’s suppressing it. Stress, illness, or hormones can all do that.”
Hanbin swallows. It dawns on him slowly, settling at the back of his mind. Then, a creeping warmth spreads as he dully realizes that he has not felt arousal in months at all, not even the idle urge to touch himself. Let alone during what she calls breeding period. If mating season is meant to wake something inside him, then his body has certainly overslept.

Summary
The fans had named Hao many things. For all he cared, Hao could be a red panda, delicate and rare, or a puppy, bright-eyed and ordinary, but to Hanbin, he had always been jjangguri, a raccoon, nimble-fingered and clever. But when the news arrived, all Hanbin could think of was a different image: Hao as a homing pigeon, released back to the sky he could not follow, returning to a home that had never truly been this one.
Hanbin didn’t like pigeons. He didn’t like that Hao, out of all people, started to fit the metaphor too well.

Summary
“So,” he said at last, “you’re gonna fuck her later?”
“Would you rather I didn’t?” Hao asked at last, the question unfeigned, as if Hanbin’s opinion mattered to him. And it was true; Hanbin’s opinion did matter to him, because if Hanbin told him not to, Hao would consider setting the matter aside. The matter was that Hanbin could not make the words, or any, leave past his mouth—unless when he intentionally bent them into the other’s favor. Hao must have known about it, too.
“Okay, let me word it differently. Have you?”

Summary
Maybe it had never been about competing at all. Hao knew he could not possibly be the sun himself, not in Hanbin’s sense, even if he had been crowned the first place of the show and stood as the group’s official center. Those were not any less in weight, but they were not in the same medium as what Hanbin carried. Hanbin’s brightness was more unstudied and less fickle, yet impossible to hold or fix in one form, and all the more irresistible for it.
So, what would it take, or what would it mean, to become the person Hanbin sought?

Summary
“So you’re single now."
“Yeah,” Hanbin said, unfazed. “It’s just me.”
Good, Hao had thought. That meant nothing would stand in his way if things played out the way he hoped—
—not that he hoped for anything, or had he?

Summary
“I know you’re jealous, Hanbin,” Hao said, the cruel, yet honeyed tonality in his voice far too evident. “That much I’m far too sure of. And deep in your heart, you know you are jealous too. But there’s another thing in you. Another, terrible one, that you haven’t had the courage to say out loud.”
“What you won’t admit…,” Hao whispered, and all Hanbin could see from the stretch, or its near absence, of his own lips to Hao’s, was how plump and distracting the pink pair was, only until he carried on, “...is that you don’t mind it.”
