Summary
Most people who met Dazai for the first time might describe his desire to find a dragon as somewhat of an obsession.
And as if that wasn’t concerning enough on its own, the initial worry about this unusual interest tended to grow into horror the moment they found out why he was so desperate to find one in the first place.
Dazai Osamu had a death wish.
A death wish he hoped to fulfil by asking a dragon to kill him.
It wasn’t that unusual of a goal to have, in Dazai’s own humble opinion. Plenty of villages were being plagued by dragons; why would theirs be any exception? If the inevitable was going to happen sooner or later anyway, he might as well make the most of it.
Of course he’d know all about it, considering he originally came from a village burned to the ground by one of the vengeful creatures.

Or: Dazai makes it his life goal to find a dragon that'll kill him, and learns that sometimes the things we seek are much closer than we think, albeit not always in the way we expect.

Nakahara Chuuya has been working as a florist for quite some time. However, over the past year, there has been an anonymous individual who consistently orders a bouquet of red carnations every third Friday of the month. On the twelfth Friday, this mysterious person finally appears at Chuuya's small shop, causing his world to blossom into something entirely new-fangled and neoteric.
