Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.

Summary
Reader has been a vigilante for the last year–exposing corrupt elite, fighting off street thugs, speaking out against the government tightening its iron grip on superheroes. All of it while also working a full time job at a cat cafe. When arrested by the New Avengers and given the choice between prison time or joining the team, they join the team. They think it’ll be full of the self-righteous assholery of everyone else in power, but as they get closer to the team, they realize that everyone is just as trapped as them.
When a new villain makes an appearance to try and kidnap Reader for reasons they won’t detail, the team has to worry about the safety of their two most unstable members and prevent them from falling into manipulative hands (besides Valentina, of course).
What happens when Reader is kidnapped by this villain? What lengths are the team, and especially Bob, willing to go to to get them back?

Walker scowls when he sees the smirk on Bucky's face. If he could talk, he would be barking out insults and jabs. Instead, he's stuck trying to physically square up to Bucky, and he pushes his shoulder lightly.
“C’mon, Walker. I know you don’t want to fight.” Bucky then chuckles. “Or should I call you Johnny instead?” He grabs hold of Walker’s wrist, twisting it, holding it beside the other supersoldier’s head.
Walker's lips curl into a silent snarl as he's grabbed, his cheeks flushing red as he's called by his first name. He tries to free his wrist, unsuccessfully, making his blush deepen.

oh my goodness, this fic was everything i love and more. if i could describe it in one word, i would say that this fic was incredibly refreshing.
after years of reading fics, the time travel tag has been a staple fave of mine, but it was honestly with this fic that introduced something different to this trope. even from the very beginning, where we experience the story from the POV of someone who was not the time traveller, to the beautiful twists in characters, this fic has brought new ideas and i could not be more thankful for it.
beautifully written, and the pacing was so good that i found myself gripped onto every chapter until i finished it all in one sitting. if i could give another kudos, i absolutely would ♡♡♡
