The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.

Nick is set on the priesthood and following the traditional version of Catholicism he grew up with. Charlie is more interested in being the social justice-focused follower of Jesus outlined in the Bible. If Montreal wants to get rid of a generational player, he's not about to stop them, especially if it means he can get a little closer to joy.

A few seconds passed before a female voice cracked on the line. “Jane?”
Cold dread flooded Shane’s insides. He fought the urge to hang up, but he didn’t reply either.
“Listen. Okay, listen” She said with an accent like Ilya’s, and a quiver in her voice. “There’s been an accident. Ilya-.” She falters on his name. “He’s in a bad way, I don’t—know anybody in Montreal. I think maybe, uh. I don’t know what to do, I know about you and Ilya and I think you should be here. I need to not be the only one Ilya knows here.”
Shane stopped existing for a few minutes before something kicked in and he robotically replied to the voice. “Where is he?”
Ilya is gravely injured in a car accident in Montreal. Svetlana and Shane have to be there for each other as his life hangs in the balance.
