cb's fics always leave me with this sense that I'm missing something, in between the lines or overlaid above them. I don't really think that I am, nor do I think it's intentional, but I sense it anyway. There's something so familiar that stirs within me whenever I read her stories, something a bit like nostalgia for a time and place I never experienced. I think I'll be chasing that feeling forever, anytime I open up her fics, inches away from my fingertips
Her whole bibliography is gonna be in my bookmarks someday. Probably.

This is so absolutely amazing, that I’m kinda at a loss for words. It’s clear OP actually knows hockey, and they write it so, so well. Every scene depicting the game feels visceral, electric, like I'm right there on the ice with them. They read like fight scenes. They pretty much are fight scenes. And foreplay (heh)
It’s exactly the kind of story I’d been expecting HR to be (insert meme about the hockey fading to black and the sex being explicit). Actually, I’m pretty sure this is the first story I’ve read, in both HR and hockey RPF, where the hockey isn’t just referenced in passing but a truly significant, integral part of the narrative, and it is glorious. And on top of that, OP captures the voices of the characters so well; it feels exactly true to who they are. I adore the dynamic between Sveta and Ilya, and the narration is so quick and funny too! That throwaway “Geopolitically” joke in chapter three absolutely made me cackle

Wow. This is a much darker take on these characters. It should feel off, but it doesn't, somehow. Like, I can envision a world, one in which HR isn’t so much about queer joy and love and unambiguous happy endings, where Ilya and Shane exist exactly as they are here, troubled and tortured and jagged at the edges, where all they see in each other is the very worst of themselves
It feels like the kind of story that's doomed to end in tragedy, but that’s never made it not worth telling

This is sooo hilarious. It was the “he did the thinkable” tweet that really made me laugh out loud, but I was grinning the whole time. I mean, all of this sounds so much like a fandom shipping war, especially the stupid beef between J2 and Cockles fans... I don't know if Grocerystoredivorce is in the Supernatural fandom or not, but I would not be surprised. Or maybe it's just like that in every fandom. Crazy, ridiculous, but boy do I love it

Amazing amazing. I love jealousy fics, mostly because of the possessive, clothes-tearing, feral insanity that is just so delicious. This fic isn't quite like that, these characters are a bit too mature (or at least Shane is lmao), and it's rated T. But oh my goodness what an excellent character study, hilarious and a bit angsty and oh so soft in the best way. I love it.
Note that the first three chapters make up the main story and the fourth chapter is a POV from the OC who is très adorable
