It was a lot easier, the way Louis described it. Then again, Louis was a pile of ash right now, so what did he know?
Even the thought made him feel like vomiting, but Owen wasn’t sure if he was capable of doing that anymore. His head felt light and fuzzy, and the sores and pains that once marred his skin were all gone. He felt faster, stronger…but he was also currently running for his life.

Weakness, he tries to rasp; it comes out garbled, so he sucks in a long, slow breath and tries again, lungs trembling with the effort. "Weak– weakness."
Scar drops the bottle like it's burned him. "You took three weakness potions?" he chokes out, and that seems to break whatever trance Xisuma, Pearl, and Tango have been in this entire time. They rush forward, eating the distance between them in rapid strides, until they're all crouched around Grian.
Grian shuts his eyes again, before remembering he isn't supposed to do that. He wants to say sorry. What he says instead, is: "It was– safer. Like this. For you."
It amounts to about the same thing.

The friends he left back home miss him, Mumbo's college friends (cough, frat bros, cough) keep pestering him, and his new friendship with a certain scarred individual is developing in a way he never expected.
Will he be able to shake off the meddling redstoners? What will happen when there are two potential romances blossoming on either side of him? And will these baristas ever stop texting each other and just make me my goddamn soy-milk capuccino?

Summary
This is a compilation of all the pieces that take place within my Over-City/Under-City AU, which is also a Hot Guy/Cute Guy Superhero AU, though that's not the only thing that'll be going on! I plan to keep this series in chronological order, so I'll put all the pieces where they'd fall along the timeline, which may sometimes not line up with the publishing date. The exception to this is 'Pretty Boy' which, IF someone does want to read the whole series in order, I'd want them to have read that one first and then all the rest, so 'Pretty Boy' will always be the first fic in the line-up, but after that you could read chronologically or just bounce around as you please! I've written all of these to mostly stand-alone, so you shouldn't be too terribly confused no matter where you decide to start up!

Now now, hang on, roll it back, hear him out. What he means is for what his body represents. The perfect test subject, attractive company for the night, a high-flying superhero to give everyone hope in a city so unstable. Scar had thought he was perfectly comfortable with that. After all, he'd certainly had his...shall we call it a 'period of self-discovery' during college and grad school, which poor Cub had been made to suffer through, considering they were roommates all through their degrees. But who even was that? Wasn't it just Hot Guy in like...a sexy clubbing outfit? Probably.
Grian was different, though. He wasn't a casual fling, he was someone in whom Scar saw his forever, but then what? What would it feel like if Grian wanted him like that, too? In a fantasy, it was wonderful, but in reality, his boyfriend's hand had just slipped under his shirt, and he couldn't breathe.{In which Scar has some internalized self-worth issues, Grian just wants his boyfriend to be ok, Cub has been an incredibly patient friend, and no, the grading is most definitely not getting done tonight.}

There were a lot of things that had changed.
It was mindblowing to think when Etho had time to stop and think, that he'd been with Doc almost double the time he'd been alive when they'd first met. Set off a chain reaction for better or worse. Funnily enough, those had also been words they'd given to each other when rings were exchanged, which, wasn't it stupid to still feel oddly warm and fuzzy over that? This year would be their twentieth anniversary, which made him feel old, but brush that aside.
They weren't who they used to be. A couple of thieves. A couple of scammers and liars and violent little souls who were angry at everything around them. Or, well, ok, maybe he was giving them too much credit there. They were probably still all of those things, if not a bit more under control...just a bit.
But idiots in love? That hadn't changed. Through a rebellion, a restructuring, through literal Anarchy, and through the much more terrifying days of marriage and parenthood. It never changed.{In which Etho reflects, Doc is half-asleep, and married with kids was never on the agenda, but then again, neither was a rebellion, and they'd handled that just fine.}

Etho’s arm was throbbing still. It was the afternoon of the second full day he and Doc had been housing a trio of feathery children. All the work to get them settled in had been stealing sleep, and the kids themselves still hadn't rested well enough after a lifetime of scrounging to survive. He wasn’t sure where such a devotion was coming from. Hell, Etho was barely old enough to be considered a functional adult himself, much less whatever deeply protective emotion was currently winding its way up into his heart and making a home for itself there.
But truly, truly, from the bottom of his heart…he was being honest. The bruise was painful, it ran beneath the fur on his forearm and purpled the pale skin of his bicep, aching and sore. But somehow, even now, even after just a handful of hours, Etho had this feeling.
If that was what it had taken to bring these three home with him as he had. To see Pearl standing here in the doorway of the little room she, Grian, and Jimmy would now share, clean and with a full meal in her belly…?
Easily. I’d have taken a thousand more.
