“Why? Why won’t you ever tell me what’s wrong with you?” Carlton’s voice is filled with frustration, and it sounds like nails on a chalkboard to Will.
What is wrong with him. It’s such a loaded question. Why does Will wake up screaming sometimes? Why can’t Will handle the cold? Why are there days when Carlton’s hands on him feel like being kept under water with no way up?
And why can’t Will tell Carlton the truth? How could Will possibly explain it without sounding insane? What is the human translation for being taken and kept in another dimension, violated, and possessed, only to then be violated yet again—
This part of him is something Will is never going to be able to share with anyone else. That nobody would understand.
Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong with you.
“Because you wouldn’t get it.” Will somehow manages to say it without gagging.
And then, Carlton goes in for the kill.
“Oh, but Mike does?”

The client hadn’t really requested anything at all; their emails had been almost overly polite, if not jarringly formal, and had selected only the most vanilla options on the questionnaire she provided. Certainly a far cry from the standard practices of her usual clientele, but this one had paid upfront and picked this expensive hotel, and Mira’s fees are dear enough on their own that she had been coloured intrigued.
Mira takes a left down the hallway after leaving the elevator and finds herself at the door to the room. She doesn’t steel herself—doesn’t need to. She can handle anything. Has handled most things. Mira swipes the keycard and lets herself in.
The person sitting on the bed is probably the last thing she expects.
In which Mira is a professional, Rumi is socially inept, and Zoey is also there. Let's hope nobody catches feelings.

It wasn’t enough to actually get away from him, Elias’ grip still far too strong around his back, fingers squeezing into his waist to hold him in place, but… but it was enough to make him stop, for now.
Enough for Elias to give him an annoyed glare. “What are you doing, Jon?”
It hadn’t hurt, not really. It’d been barely a pinch, obviously Jon’d had a lot worse. But…
“I don’t want to do this tonight, Elias.”

"Can I help you?" Said a voice from behind Jon, very audibly annoyed.
Jon turned, and it felt very much like he'd suddenly come face-to-face with a mirror from two years ago- scarless, his hair less grey and cut short, dressed properly rather than the frumpy clothes Jon had been forced to borrow from Georgie. The other blinked at him, and he blinked in turn, all thoughts of trying to figure out what the hell was going on gone from his mind in the face of the person who he'd been not even that long ago.
"What the hell-" his Other said, and Jon was briefly very relieved that he didn't have a cup of tea in hand otherwise he might've dropped it and splashed the both of them. Jon tried for a smile that likely came out as more of a grimace.
"Hello, Jon. I need your help."
