Summary
While on a secret mission aboard a torus station, Murderbot runs into some accidents, and encounters a series of unexpected complications—namely, a group of small humans who are completely unafraid of it.
After enduring involuntary eye contact, physical proximity, playtime, and story sessions, these 'complications' ultimately help it resolve the real complication.There is always sincere feelings in this world. Even in the Corporation Rim.
This fic’s worldbuilding is entirely based on Martha Wells’ next TMBD novella Platform Decay (Chapter 2 and partial summary). The plot is my speculation on how the story might go. TV tags mainly involves a little settings.
Let’s be real: I just really wanted to write MB babysitting. -

When they first proper met, Three tried to show concern in its own customary way—unfortunately, Murderbot didn’t quite appreciate the gesture.
Book 5: Network Effect, Chapter 20, shortly after MB 1.0 was repaired. The initial interaction between two SecUnits from different companies, each accustomed to vastly different operational protocols: MB is highly guarded, while Three awkwardly attempts kindness. Needless to say, it’s a beginning filled with misunderstandings.

It features extensive worldbuilding that is either extrapolated from canonical details or entirely invented, including but not limited to: the physiology of the construct, the primary business of B-E Corp, and the "static" layer hidden deep within the feed.
