There was something surreal, Saejima thought, almost nightmarish about seeing Majima again. Like this was some vulgar facsimile of his kyoudai, with the right voice and the right hair and mostly the right face, but not quite right enough to be fooled into believing that this was the same Majima Goro he once knew. His kyoudai was loud and radiant and, while not happy per se, he was violently alive. This man felt like smoke and ash. Like a childhood home that had burned down a long time ago.

Lycaon didn't realize he was going to reach for him until his wrist jerked against the rope.
They both startled at the motion. Hugo's eyes rimmed in delicate exhaustion, a testament to his work ethic, his long nights but they were every bit as beautiful as they were the last time he looked up at Lycaon like this, pale lashes and mouth full.
Lycaon let his head tip back to break their stare.
“Hurry, perhaps.” He said and for once Hugo didn't talk back.
Lycaon takes time off rarely but always after ticking the correct boxes. Hugo finds out what that warehouse is usually used for and PubSec doesn't get called.

Hugo didn't mean to stare, but for a moment, he couldn't help it. Lycaon gave him no sign he'd noticed Hugo's attention but he could tell by the tension in his shoulders as the seconds dragged on that he was looking too long. Each of his legs, dark like gunmetal in Hugo's austere white bathroom, had been released and expanded. Heels flat on the floor, they branched at the top as though blooming, slatted steel of a satiny finish without the lively glow of their charge beneath them. As he watched, Lycaon was unwinding the leather straps that wrapped him below the metal, creased and shined. Hugo wondered if it was as butter soft as it looked in his hands.
When he looked up, Lycaon was regarding him patiently, that single red eye fixed on his.
After an intimate encounter, Hugo struggles to maintain emotional equilibrium in the face of vulnerability. Lycaon gets a scrub down and a treat after, for being a good boy.

Hugo gradually and terrifyingly suffers from temporary blindness due to the side effects of Hartman's drug. Lycaon helps to keep him steady through the dark.
