The man flung the door open with a flourish, turning to the girls with a huge, toothy smile.
“Good morning!” He announced.
Robin died a bit inside, she had no energy for this today. She fixed her face.
“Hello, how are you?”
“Good! I am good,” said this new man, warmly. Robin hadn’t seen him in here before. He was quite a bit taller than her, a few mousy brown curls escaping out under his beanie. Or toque, as the Canadians called them. Which she wasn’t sure this man was, as a thick accent clung to his words spoken so far. He was pale with a smattering of moles around his face, wide blue eyes taking in the offerings of the shop. Maybe European?

So now they were heading to see Roz. Bood couldn’t lie and say he hadn’t pulled the A card for this hospital trip mostly to get to come and see Roz. No, not just Roz. Roz and his boyfriend. Roz and the honest-to-god motherfucking boyfriend that none of them had known that he’d had. Roz and the boyfriend he all but definitely moved to Ottawa for. Bood was over the fucking moon. There was no way in hell Rozanov was ever missing another barbecue.
A short sequel of sorts to 'Crashing' in which Bood and Dykstra make a trip to the hospital the day after Shane drives down to be with Ilya after the plane crash. Revelations, tenderness, and humour ensue.
