The warm, familiar scent of his mate drifted past him, a sense of quiet movement entering his peripheral vision, and Iruka moved the Hokage hat out of the way to sit next to Kakashi. "You aren't hiding very well, Rokudaime-sama," he murmured, amused.
"Mm, not hiding," Kakashi replied, turning to face Iruka. The man's ponytail was dropping thin locks again, just as it always did at the end of a school day, and the late afternoon sun burnished his tan complexion to a glowing, warm bronze. Kakashi rested his head on a hand, his arm on his drawn-up knees. "Just admiring the view."

Naruto and Sasuke slow-burning their way through the usual stages of frenemies->friends->lovers while saving the world and the people they care about the most.
Konoha 13 growing into the badass new generation we know and love.
Itachi fighting fate as usual but this time maybe, just maybe securing a future for himself and everyone he already sacrificed so much for.
And Kakashi, growing into a functional human being, stepping up in his role as teacher, embracing his new family (and totally embracing Iruka-sensei somewhere in there) and having to fight the world to the death to be able to keep any of these good things life offered him - as usual.- Words:

Kakashi put his hands in his pockets and blinked.
“That’s quite the attitude you’ve got there, chuunin.”
Iruka gave him a very insincere smile.
The only other worker was on the other side of the room, helping two shinobi. The room was rather empty.
“I give as good as I get, princess,” Iruka said in a lowered voice.Kakashi is irritated by Iruka and tries to teach him a lesson. Iruka is just as irritated by him. Iruka is also one step (or more) ahead and turns the tables. To Kakashi's surprise, this makes him oh so interested in the younger man....and Iruka doesn't know what to think...
