Carol's taking classes over at Dalton State, thirty credits into her associate's. Daryl is content to watch them both, a glow and a buzz in his chest every time he sees how high they can go. He's accepted, two years in, that he's theirs. And they're his. Their own little, cobbled-together family.
And he's not letting anybody take that away from them.

Furlan knows, as soon as he hears the yelling and screaming, that it’s Lee, into another fight.
His heart lodges itself in his throat as he drops the boot he’s been half-heartedly polishing for the past half an hour, jumping to his feet and starting at a run across the dirt-packed courtyard, dust flying up around him.
Something close to panic squeezes at his chest, even as this has become what seems a near-daily occurrence.
Levi getting into fights with the other scouts, whether newer recruits like themselves, or the older veterans. Levi couldn’t keep out of trouble.
