How can we be certain that they will give up their emergency powers when the time is right?” Senator Taneel spoke up, doubtful of the whole plan. “Even if there was a way to remove the Chancellor from office, surely there is no one in the Senate who we can trust with this much power.”

Summary
In one universe, Obi-Wan Kenobi became a Padawan to Qui-Gon Jinn after the mess that was Bandomeer and ended up living through the destruction of the Jedi Order as he knows it.
In this universe, Qui-Gon Jinn refuses to be swayed into taking a Padawan even after everything that happens on Bandomeer and leaves Obi-Wan Kenobi to his fate as a member of the Agri-Corps. However, his fate was to become a Jedi Master to be written down in the annals of history, not a farmer on some backwater planet in the Outer Rim. Throw in some bone-crushing pats on the back from the Force and some liberal abuse of legal and temple loopholes by a hated, barebones, and struggling Service Corps and you have the perfect mixture to throw Obi-Wan even further than he ever could have made it otherwise.
Only time will tell, however, if it will be enough to overcome the Thousand Year plot of the Sith.

Joker’s smile faded, disbelief taking over his face. And then, fear.
Hood bares his teeth in a mockery of the Clown’s grin. “That’s right. No more second chances for you. The Bat’s finally done with your games.”
