"Nate (the Dayspring) is the ancient, more than half forgotten god of time (or whatever). Wade is himself, and he stumbles (somehow) across some of Nate’s lore and starts “worshipping” him for shits and giggles. Leaving him offerings of cereal and leftover Chinese food, prayers that are really just wade conplainjng about his day and saying amen a lot.But FUCKING SURPRISE Nate is real, and very excited to have his first worshipper in a thousand years."

Living a fairly sheltered life, Karkat only really has a few friends, a big bunch that he talked to via Pesterchum until the application somehow disappeared. He and his friends thought nothing of it and switched over to Skype instead.
Then, one day, Terezi met a bunch of 'trolls' on a forum, and decided to chat with them.
She gives Karkat's Skype name to one of them and assures him that he'll like the guy.
Dave Strider has the weirdest Skype name on Alternia. Okay, one of the few Skype names on Alternia. But still.
