There was peace in her heart and calm in the sea of her mind when she finally returned to the place where she was born but she should've known better than to assume it would last. The world called for blood and it would have it.
The voice in her mind that fought the monster in her belly for dominance didn't help much but when faced with a madman, a nation that rose from the ashes like a phoenix and an old union that wanted war with her home, the increasingly deteriorating state of her mind didn't rank very high on her priority list.
It should have.

Sakura got up and didn’t bother brushing the dirt from her dress. She had a feeling she was about to get even dirtier.
She looked at the memorial stone one last time, memorizing the characters without even realizing she was doing it. It would serve from that moment on as a reminder of her determination. She wouldn’t let Naruto and Sasuke join the names carved on that stone.

Summary
In a world obsessed with killing and dying, Seiko is mostly concerned with chasing off her boredom. The Academy wasn’t exactly intellectually stimulating, but dying in the second shinobi war sounded like a long walk off a short pier. Everyone is always so stressed about avoiding attention, or min-maxing skills in situations like this.
Seiko is of the opinion that those people need to chill the hell out. Maybe play a little shogi. Death comes for them all anyways. Better to enjoy this all while it lasts.
