Bloody and proud. He remembers taking it, holding its cooling corpse between his hands and watching the blood drip onto the concrete sidewalk in methodical drip, drip, drips.
It was the first time someone had ever killed for him. He looks at the Sargeant, really looks at Johnny for what must be the first time without anything clouding his vision, and thinks, it would not be the last.
