Mumbo didn’t say anything, much to Grian’s pang of annoyance. “Hi Ren, it’s good to see you.”

“Hey cutie.” Bright blue hair crept out of the shadows, a smug smirk painted on Scott’s face. He had a backpack slung over his shoulder. “I was worried you weren’t going to come.”
A smile graced his face involuntarily. “Eh, I almost didn’t. Did you see the weather earlier? But, you know, I figured I couldn’t leave my favorite reporter hanging.”
Scott grinned. “Glad to hear it. I wouldn’t want you going to anyone else.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Jimmy glanced around. “You’re the best at what you do.”
“Aw,” Scott slung his backpack onto the ground, unzipping it to reveal a manilla folder. “You flatter me.”
There it was. A kind of smoothness to their conversations that even the ones he had with his closest friends lacked. It was fun, something Jimmy wasn’t used to. Scott was just someone who made him smile without any effort.

Summary
Once in the sky, away from prying eyes, the new hero groaned. Though he was feeling much better, the flying parts of him were tense and sore from how much he’d overused them a few nights ago. And for some reason, the night off only made that pain worse. Rolling his neck, Grian hoped for some kind of relief.
That wasn’t the only thing making him tense.
Flying while using a cell phone would probably qualify as illegal if people could still fly, yet Grian couldn’t stop checking his phone. And the initial annoyance had shifted to anger. Mumbo still wasn’t texting him back. It had been over a day since their quasi argument, and Grian was no closer to figuring out what exactly the other had up his butt. On any other day Grian would have just assumed his friend was busy, except he could cleary see that Mumbo was posting and using his phone.
Looking back over the city, Grian resisted the urge to roll his eyes. If his dearest friend wanted to be pissy, let him. It wasn’t like Mumbo had the patience to keep this up.Series

But the pain still lingered. The type that came from family secrets he couldn't reveal to Jimmy, that came from his deformed wings, and from every day he remembered that Jimmy was all he had left. And the guilt that came from the family heirloom tucked away his drawer, the very cause of all of this.
But when a new villain threatens Hermitopia, can Scar find the strength to trust himself? And can Grian finally accept the past as it was, and accept himself so they can move into a new future?

Summary
The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
This is a compilation of all the pieces that take place within my Over-City/Under-City AU, which is also a Hot Guy/Cute Guy Superhero AU, though that's not the only thing that'll be going on! I plan to keep this series in chronological order, so I'll put all the pieces where they'd fall along the timeline, which may sometimes not line up with the publishing date. The exception to this is 'Pretty Boy' which, IF someone does want to read the whole series in order, I'd want them to have read that one first and then all the rest, so 'Pretty Boy' will always be the first fic in the line-up, but after that you could read chronologically or just bounce around as you please! I've written all of these to mostly stand-alone, so you shouldn't be too terribly confused no matter where you decide to start up!

“A chase?” Grian parrots, looking at Scar to see if he knows what they’re talking about. Judging by the way his eyes darken slightly and the easy going smile fades from his face, he does.
“What do you need?” Scar questions, timbre low and serious as he speaks.
Etho shakes his head, “Not here. It’s better to show you.”
