“You’re flustering the poor boy, Eddie,” Hen adds. “And it’s making him dumb.”

“Wha- Buck isn’t flustered.”
Eddie is flustered. His face feels hot. He takes another sip of his coffee to give his hands something do to, but that only makes him feel warmer. Shit.
Hen levels him with the most deadpan look. “Last week he walked into a stop sign after you called him ‘big boy’ on a call.”
Eddie nearly spits out his coffee.
Or: the one where Eddie subconsciously flirts with Buck without realizing and Buck is actively trying not to have a heart attack at work about it

Eddie thinks about it for a moment, because honestly, it’s not something he’s ever really considered. Which seems crazy, considering his previously-assumed-straight best friend came out to him in the last year.
“I’ve never really thought about it,” Eddie admits. “I mean, I’ll check out a hot guy’s ass now and then, but that’s normal.”
Buck chokes.
“It’s not ab-normal,” Buck manages to get out. “Or so I hear.”

“Let me come with you,” Buck says, practically begging. “Look, I know it’s your son and your truck and your crazy plan, but it’s Christmas, and maybe it’s insane, but I’d rather be with you getting a neck cramp from sleeping in your passenger seat than on my couch alone or begging Maddie to let me sit in on her and Chimney’s plans. And then I can play my road trip playlist and find all the cheapest gas stations and make sure you don’t cost yourself two-hundred bucks by speeding on the I-10, and…it’ll be fun. I promise. Just—” Buck bites his lip and softens his voice. “Just let me come.”
Eddie just raises an eyebrow at him and motions to the passenger seat. “Well,” he says, “you better get in.”
or, christopher has a request: to be back in LA in time for christmas. eddie drives sixteen-hundred miles to make it happen (and of course, buck comes along too).

“Where are you sleeping here?” Eddie asked, not missing Buck’s guilty glance at the pillows and sheets piled on his couch that answered his question. “I guarantee you my couch is just as comfortable.”
Buck seemed to really consider it for the first time, jaw twitching as he weighed Eddie’s offer but then he shook his head sadly.
“You just feel bad for me, laid up and staying here alone.”
Eddie shrugged. “Is that a bad thing? Caring about you?”

Buck knows what Eddie wants. He’s seen the move enough times—he’s done the move enough times, with plenty of girls and the occasional guy in Peru ( which really should’ve clued him into the whole being bi thing. ) But it takes his brain a moment to catch up when Eddie picks him up.
All two-hundred-fifty-plus pounds of muscle, lifted like it’s nothing.
Oh. Oh.
Eddie’s moving him with an effortlessness that sends Buck’s hips stuttering in a filthy grind, his legs locking around Eddie instinctively as he’s carried up the stairs. Buck barely has time to register what’s happening before he’s being thrown onto the bed.
Not even a second later, Eddie’s there again, pinning him down with that inhuman speed, his weight solid and unrelenting on top of him. Just what he’d been dreaming of, aching for. And it’s so, so fucking good.
They’re like waves, crashing into each other again and again, only to come back for more. Half-lidded, kiss-bruised lips meet between Buck’s stolen breaths and he’s suddenly so jealous that Eddie doesn’t have to worry about breathing, he can just be kissing him instead.
or: Eddie's a vampire and Buck has a sudden fascination with everything that entails.

Summary
They follow the room numbers down the hallway until the last door on the right. It’s slightly ajar, and when Eddie knocks politely, it opens further.
“Hey,” a cheerful, male voice says. “You guys are early!”
When Eddie spots the source of the voice, he nearly swallows his tongue.
The man is tall, with broad shoulders and huge arms, a sunny smile on his face that looks so genuine Eddie can’t help but smile back. There’s a splash of pink over his one eye, his hair is just the slightest bit curly, and his eyes are startlingly blue. He’s also about 80% legs, and leaning on a cane to walk.
Belatedly, Eddie remembers that he should say something too, not just stare at this guy approaching them.
“Uh,” he starts eloquently. “Sorry. This one was getting impatient at home.”~
Newly arrived to LA, Eddie decides to take his son to parent/child cooking classes. The instructor is so much more than he expected.

“Buck…” Eddie wheezed, his eyes rolling in his head. Maddie snapped her gaze down to look at him and almost burst into tears at the sight.
Eddie’s sun kissed skin was deathly pale, with blue tinging his lips and dark circles under his eyes. Buck never would’ve left him. Not like this.
“Buck…”
“What about him?” Maddie heard herself ask, her voice trembling with it. Eddie’s lips moved but a wordless huff left his lips as his eyes started to close.
Chimney shook his shoulder, tapped his face, anything he could to keep him awake. “Eyes on me, Eddie! No sleeping on the job.”
Eddie made a wordless gurgle sound that still made it seem like he was drowning. He possibly was. Maddie could sense the salt water flooding his lungs.
“Eddie!” Maddie said, shaking him herself. “Where’s Buck?”
Eddie wheezed and said, “… boat.”
Then Eddie stopped breathing and Chimney started CPR.
