There's possibly no greater joy than returning home to your dog greeting you at the door, wagging their tail, and barking, simply excited to see you whether you've been gone for five hours or five minutes.
Or... maybe there is a greater joy...
Personally though, for Bucky Barnes that greater joy isn't too far off, because instead of his literal dog greeting him at the door he has his boyfriend to greet him. Similar in that his boyfriend is just as excited to see him as an actual dog would be, but also because his boyfriend is on all fours with a tail butt plug in and whining and making puppy-dog eyes at him.
The second is definitely what Bucky prefers.
He cannot wait to play with his boyfriend- his puppy after work.

Bucky stomps his way to a stop in front of Steve. Steve looks up at him and smiles. His flat glare is all Winter Soldier, chilling to the bone, but the restless clench of his fists is Bucky. So is the stubborn set to his jaw when he demands, “Let me scent you.”
Without waiting for an answer, he begins to strip off his gear and set it in orderly rows on the coffee table. Derringer, holster, SIG, holster, mag-pouch, IFAK, Skorpion, belt, vest —
Steve’s eyebrows steadily rise. Surely, he thinks, Bucky hadn’t brought all those grenades for him. Bucky’s glare turns murderous when he notes Steve’s bland amusement, but by the time he’s done, dressed down to a t-shirt and cargos, he still hasn’t moved from his expectant spot in front of him, so Steve gathers up his wits and says, “Uh, sure, Buck. If you want.”
And then, without any pomp or ceremony, he’s got a lap full of serum-enhanced super-soldier.
or: Bucky’s memory leads him astray sometimes, but it works out just fine in the end.

“Tell you what,” she announces, cutting Vox off before he can try and wheedle her again. “Let’s make a deal. No, not like that. A friendly wager, nothing more. You sit down, be quiet, and let me finish my work, and if you can behave until I’m done, I’ll be yours for the rest of the evening.”
This is a tantalizing offer for Vox, since he’s been trying to trap her into listening to something called ‘vaporwave’ for a few years to no avail. She can see his pupils dilating from across the room at the prospect.
“But if you can’t behave,” she continues, “then you’re mine for the evening, and I can’t promise I’ll be nice.”
Or: Rosie's had just about enough of Vox inserting himself into her business and expecting her to drop everything for him. Tonight, they're doing things her way.

Summary
Alastor tried to steady himself. He had begun trembling in alarm at the idea of being so utterly at Vox’s mercy. There wasn’t much of that in him, and Alastor didn’t hold out hope that what little existed was likely to be exerted on his behalf. The gap in his memories between the hotel and waking in this room was concerning, strongly hinting that Vox had succeeded in clawing his way into his mind at some point.
And just what, pray tell, had he done after pulling Alastor down into the whirlpool of his hypnotism?
“Something the matter, my dear?” Vox cooed, sickeningly sweet. His other hand came up to sit on Alastor’s other knee. His ankles were bound, but that was no hindrance to Vox pushing his thighs uncomfortable wide apart. “You’re shaking... Oh, is the Radio Demon scared? Are you scared, Alastor?” He was wildly giddy, snickers peppering his words.

He could hear the faint sound of music playing as he opened the door; it was no surprise that Valentino had arrived first, Vox couldn’t respect him if he hadn’t and given up the upper hand that easily after how carefully this evening had been arranged. Still, it made his stomach flip with unfamiliar nerves, knowing that the owner of that strangely seductive voice was waiting inside for him. He forced himself to step inside and shut the door firmly behind him – the only thing more nerve-wracking than the idea of meeting this pimp was the thought of anyone seeing him loitering in the hallway like, well, a nervous john.

It's taken about a century, but he's pleasantly surprised to discover that the rest of the world is finally starting to catch up with his perspective.
More than anything else, he’s pleased that these new modern attitudes have given him extra opportunities for bad puns.
