Aizawa eyes him, staring at his bandages before turning around. “Don’t thank me yet, kid.”
After a chance meeting with Dabi, Shouto is met with the realisation that the villain was, in fact, his eldest brother who was thought to be dead. With this in mind, Shouto goes on a wild goose chase trying to track Touya down again, while struggling with his mental health, keeping several secrets, and dealing with his own horrible ideas.

I found a mention of this fic deep in the bowels of Instagram comments - a truly hellish dive that, nonetheless, has netted me a pearl. Viktor's character is a little bit lost, I suspect an appropriately indulgent self-insertion by the author. Or maybe he is just steamrolled under this particular Jayce. The obvious American Psycho comparison is /so/ interesting for Jayce's character; like you're absolutely right he has all the markers for psychopathy, not to mention the queercoded self-repression of it all. I have never read something that explored how much of a deeply disturbed individual that man is. I will be looking for more after this.

They laughed, because they knew it. Because there was no other possible future where the Russians won. He imagined the General, blood pooling around his body. Dead. The General would die, and Steve took comfort in that.
The General nodded at Steve, a smug smile spreading on his face, then turned to the Doctor and spoke some Russian. They talked there for a moment, then they both walked out without another word.
“That’s bad right?” Steve asked once they were alone again.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah, that’s pretty bad.”
They leaned their heads on each others’ shoulders, and they stayed silent for a very long time. He focused on nothing but the connection, and hoped everything would sort itself out. He hoped Henderson was on his way.
