When the Kerberos mission is lost, Shiro is let go from the Galaxy Garrison for standing up to their cover-up of the truth. He's left lost and disgraced, with everyone else abandoning Keith, the pilot whom the Garrison is blaming for the failure of their most ambitious space flight. With few options left, he ends up with a job at the only place willing to take him: The Walt Disney Corporation.
That's not the only reason he takes the job, however. After all-when it comes to being a Blade, the mission always comes first. Even if the mission involves putting on a fur costume and entertaining kids while watching and waiting. Watching the secret that is embedded within Disney World itself, right under everyone's noses. Waiting for the day to come when, at last, Shiro can truly, openly be himself and take to the stars once more, riding the ship his grandparents came to Earth in and defeating the evil that threatens the universe. It's a mission that strives for a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, as it were.
Incidentally, that tomorrow comes sooner than anyone expects.
