The entire crew at first was struck silent, shocked they didn’t reach their demise. Then, a wave of celebration took hold. Crew members hugged one another, laughed and shouted, thanking the stars they were alive. It was during this flustered joy of newfound survival that Geordi spun Data around, grabbed him by both arms, and exalted, “Data, I could kiss you!”

I have always loved the series The next generation, but I never cared for any of the movies. I thought the series set up some great possibilities, but every movie dropped the ball.
The three storylines they set up the best were 1. the romance between Troy and Riker 2. Data as a parent, and 3. Wesley's development into the next generation of the next generation.
The following story is my version of the movie.

While they figure out how to reunite the anxious android with his shipmates, Data and Kryten spend the day together swapping tales of their adventures, discussing the pros and cons of emotion, and arguing over the existence of Silicon Heaven.
