    Summary


    I was 10 years late to the Law & Order: Criminal Intent party, but then fell hard in July 2021. At one bedtime in late August 2021, I mused, "I wonder what Robert Goren is doing now." I awoke thinking, "He's running a trivia game in a restaurant owned by his friend Shard." Okay, but who the hell was Shard? I had to find out. I also had a vision of a disillusioned Alexandra Eames having retreated to an apartment in Connecticut post-retirement. Her cousin, concerned after discussions with Alex's sister, invites her to dinner one Saturday evening where she re-encounters Robert Goren, whom she hasn't spoken to for over a year after having only phone/e-mail contact with him since 2012 when the FBI recruited him. The first story, "Requited," as you may guess, reunites them, and each subsequent story follows chronologically. Each story builds upon the previous one, so they should be read in order.

    Because I couldn't think of anything else, the series' title comes from the village in Connecticut where Goren has rented a home.
