Each year, towards the end of February, Suguru and Satoru meet to see plum blossoms bloom. It's a tradition that started with Suguru's family. Perhaps, he is finally ready to end it.
The door falls shut easily, cutting off the bright lights of the hallway and leaving him in the dim red velvet room. The walls are painted, textured to remind him of the fabric. Shuffling his feet along the floor, he thinks the carpet really is velvet. The standard heart shaped bed sits in the middle of the room, golden hooks glinting in the ceiling amidst the sheer fabrics that swoop down, blush pink rose petals scattered across the sheets and floors. Shimmering pink curtains block a wide window, the same material as the fabric in the ceiling.
Suguru does not glance at his hands to see if the lighting has drawn the blood staining them to the surface.
