Summary
Five years ago, the nations of the world set aside their differences in order to confront a common enemy: the Siren forces. They united together under one common banner: the Azur Lane, with the intent of facing the greatest threat to humanity that ever existed. They gathered together, their forces strong with some of the most powerful ships that the nations have built; their pride and joy, as they set sail at one last sunset for the sake of mankind.
They lost.
Now, all that is left is a broken and splintered world. Human civilization has completely collapsed, and the Siren forces have won.
Now, all that's left, is to survive.

The description and title are still a work in progress as is the story. Once I finish this first draft I'll revise it later in a way that will improve the overall narrative. Summary
Every great hero has a beginning. Sometimes they aren't great, most of the time they're someone who had nothing and wanted to change their fate.
They didn't start out as a man who was an heir to the biggest industrial conglomerate the world had seen. A man who had lost his entire platoon to alien forces, faced a court martial, and was sent to the special forces equivalent of a penal unit. A man who had rose through their ranks, became a company commander in a year, and amassed enough war crimes to make the enemies that massacred his men fear for their lives when his name was spoken.
That man could never be a hero. He could never have a wife and a kid, friends in other special forces groups, or a working relationship with a killer Kansen.
He had all that, or future and humble him had all that. For now, Michael Tiberius Hammond was very much the former.
