“Well… why don’t you tell me about ‘everything and shit’?” Mully asks, breaking the quiet. I shrug. “What difference would it make?” I mutter, hiding my face in my knees. My voice now muffled, I add; “You’ll all hate me anyways.”
It’s silent for a minute, then- “Don’t be fuckin’ ridiculous mate!” He exclaims, throwing his hands up in slight exasperation. “What you mean we’ll hate you? That staticky stuff was the coolest shit ever.” He sounds personally offended that I don’t find fazing in and out of reality the ‘coolest shit ever’.
And I don’t. But his reaction seems so genuine. I roll my eyes, albeit fondly. “Not really. To be honest, it’s the most annoying shit that’ll ever happen to you.” I pause, then relent. “But sure. What do you wanna know?”
His questions come almost instantly, like Mully knew I was going to give in. This motherfucker. “How long have you been staticky? Why don’t you look like that all the time? Why are you staticky in the first place? What’s it called? Who knows about it? Am I special for knowing about it-?” He stops suddenly, cutting himself off and losing his confidence after that last question. I give one short, single yet fond laugh.
Of course he wants to be special.

Through the time they work together, real chemistry starts to simmer.
