Fictober Day 11 - “Think! For once!”

Peter has had a bad day.

For once, he forgot he had finished coffee, so he had to rush out of his house, late as always, without his morning boost of energy.

He should’ve known that would set his day up to be the worst.

Then, because he was late the night before blocking a bank robbery and he didn’t have his morning coffee, he forgot to add a reagent and ruined two days’ worth of work.

As he was eating the same sad sandwich for the third day in a row, he was ready to call it a day.

However, he had photos of himself to edit and another night of tiredly searching for crimes in New York with Deadpool.
He looked forward to the two hours he’d lie his head on the pillow, unconscious.

His usual fortune, unfortunately, had other plans. So that night he had to fight off the most tenacious and stupid group of criminals of the last few months with a very uncooperative Deadpool.

“Take those two and I’ll attack the others from behind, okay?” he screamed at Deadpool, ready to throw himself onto them.

“No way I’m letting you handle all those by yourself, Spidey. Let me help” Deadpool replied.

Peter didn’t have time to say no that the man threw his katana toward one of the criminals, which was very close to where Peter was landing with his web.

The katana first sliced Peter’s web, cutting a bit his arm, then landed in the criminal’s shoulder.

Peter found himself crushed on the ground, together with his patience. He screamed.

“What the fuck, Deadpool?!”

“What,” the man said, continuing his job, “Are you hurt? Why did you throw yourself on my katana?”

“You threw it at me, you stupid!”

At that Deadpool stopped.

“Think! For once! Can you do that? Stop and think before slicing me?!” Peter said. Then he regained a bit of control and webbed the remaining criminals together.

Deadpool just looked at him and his weird expression, mixed with the fatigue, left Peter incredibly tired. He sighed.

“How hurt are you?” Deadpool asked, getting closer to examine his cut.

“Not that much, it’s just a scratch, really,” Peter murmured.

Deadpool hugged his shoulder, “Come on Spidey, why don’t we call it a night and I take you out for some nice, greasy fast food? You look like you haven’t eaten in days.”

Peter laughed and nodded.

“Sorry for lashing out”.

“No worries, baby boy, happens to the best of us” Deadpool immediately replied, then proceeded to talk Peter’s ear off about every weird thing his mind could come up with.

For the first time in over a week, Peter smiled under the mask.
