    Or : Peter slowly realizes the true extent of what Skip has done to him & avoids Wade as much as he can, but they see through his little game.
    (Peter is 24 and Wade is 29 because otherwise that'd be deeply fucking ironic)

    "I'm taking you to my nearest safe house so that you can not die on some random roof. You're welcome, Spidey-Babe!"

    "Shh, praise me later for my heroics! Don't worry your pretty little butt about a thing. Old DP will take good care of you! Scout's honor."

    For some reason, Peter was not as opposed to this as he maybe should be. Deadpool is a killer. Peter shouldn't feel safe with him.

    But he does.

    Being a lone vigilante is hard, alright? Between being Spider-Man, grad school, and his job at the Bugle, Peter really doesn't have time for friends. So when Deadpool starts to tag along on his patrols more and more often, Peter really doesn't object as much as he thinks he should. How is it his fault when the ex-mercenary worms his way into his heart with his obnoxious jokes, and fake flirting, and weirdly genuine kindness?

    Or: my attempt at a slow burn featuring plenty of spideypool tropes and a gratuitous amount of petnames
