Summary
After the trip to Buckingham Palace, Sherlock finds out that maybe John's family background was different than he'd thought.
A series of AUs where ONE fact gets changed and then everything else changes in its wake--all while keeping as much canon-compliance as possible (army doctor, invalided home, alcoholic sister, crime-solving with Sherlock). Most of them more or less take place between the Great Game and the ASIB Christmas party. Each can be read on its own, but (if only to keep track of my thought process) it's probably helpful to read them in sequence.

Summary
Time Traveler's Wife fusion.
It’s hard to keep track of all these different Sherlocks at different ages. It seems like just last week he was convincing a seven year old Sherlock to smile because it was his birthday and then fighting the awkwardness of him asking if John was married in the future.
Probably because it was just last week for him. Fucking time travel.

Summary
John and Sherlock don't meet at Bart's. They meet when Moriarty picks a sad, tiny, down and out invalided army doctor for the first pip in his game with Sherlock. Only problem for Moriarty is that John is a total BAMF, and during Moriarty's phone call to Sherlock (using John to speak for him of course) John manages to get out of view of Moran's sniper shot, warn away any innocent bystanders, and then proceeds to remove the bomb vest and disable it. Moriarty and Moran are all "What. The. Fuck?" and Sherlock is all "Well hello there, fascinating little man. Join me in kicking this consulting criminal's arse, won't you?"

There are stories with snakes that bite and say {you knew what I was when you picked me up} but this isn't one of them. This is the kind of story where the abandoned child walks in the jungle beneath the branches full of hissing things and tells them {we be of one blood ye and I}.

In which Ushijima tries very hard to be a good neighbour to the new tenants next door. (alternatively titled: love thy crooked neighbour)
From: Ushijima Wakatoshi
To: Oikawa TooruDear neighbour,
Congratulations on moving into this neighbourhood with Iwaizumi. I hope you will enjoy your stay here, and I apologise for not being able to greet you in person, as I am a very busy man.
As you might have noticed, I have also placed a pot of flowers next to your doorstep as a housewarming gift. It is a rue plant, traditionally meant to symbolise ‘regret’. I have expended great effort to procure this plant for you, as this is not a common flower you can find in your neighbourhood florist. The symbolism is entirely intentional.
I look forward to seeing you (and your boyfriend) around.
Sincerely,
Ushijima Wakatoshi -

In which Stiles goes along with one of Derek’s plans and ends up in an alternate universe as a result. He should’ve known better. He did know better, actually, and that means he has no one to blame but himself.
“Laura wants to lure the kid in with food and kindness and make a pet of him, like a feral cat. Derek wants to have him arrested for stalking. They’re at an impasse. (And the rest of the family is staying emphatically out of it in a way that suggests bets have been placed.)”

Summary
It's the start of sixth year and Harry is consumed by regrets and frustrations - feeling utterly unprepared for his supposed destiny as 'savior of the wizarding world', now that he finally knows the truth about the Prophecy. He can't help but wish that he'd taken his studies more seriously in the previous five years, and wonders how much more prepared he'd be, if he had. Then he learns about a lost artifact called the Mirror of Paths that offers one the opportunity to both see what they would have been like, had they taken a different path, but also gain the knowledge of this alternate version of themselves. Hoping to gain the knowledge from a Harry Potter, sorted into Ravenclaw, he goes after it. But the mirror doesn't let you choose what you want - it chooses for you and the Harry he meets in the Mirror is a Harry Potter that accepted the Hat's first verdict and went into Slytherin.
Harry gains his counterparts knowledge, but he seems to gain a lot more than he bargained for. Just what unforeseen consequences will arise from his rash action? - Warning - story discontinued.
Part of my series of Abandoned Plot Bunnies. Story is up for adoption. Discontinued/Abandoned Story.

Summary
In the Shire, hobbits say, "What lovely weather we've having." They also stir their teacups for four and a half clockwise rotations, place their left elbow seven-eighths down the way of the arm rest, and sniffled pointedly, which roughly translates to: "This tea is over-steeped and bland, your furniture is both uncomfortable and horrifically tasteless, and you're a twit of a host."
And I think that's beautiful.
~
Hobbitish is a language of manners and etiquette, the dwarves don't even know that Hobbitish is a thing, and Bilbo is trying to keep a straight face and his peace of mind while the Company unintentionally keeps sexually propositioning him and challenging him to pie-eating contests to the death.
