Roy can't fucking stand the fucking cards. They're plain white with plain black text, each displaying the name of a different emotion, and he's supposed to go through them and decide whether he's feeling each thing or not. It's fucking stupid, it makes him feel like a fucking toddler, and worst of all, it fucking works.

The feeling wooshes out of him, though, as Steve wraps a warm clammy palm around his ankle. Suddenly, Eddie’s not sure of a time where he's felt so grounded. His hand feels like an anchor holding him still. He pretends to focus on the movie, he had already been losing the plot before but now he's sure he won't be able to tell you the movie's point. His heart stutters as Steve's pointer finger circles once then hesitantly dips under the hem of his pant leg. It rests there, feather light, for the remainder of the movie, pinning him in place.

Dropping his hand into Neil’s lap, Andrew shifted until he and Neil were face to face a breath away, hovering just apart.
“Neil. Yes or no.”
“See. It’s kinda nice isn’t it, still asking for the little things.”
“That wasn’t an answer.”
“You know my answer, it’s always yes with you.”
As Andrew kissed him, a harsh retort like he might’ve given Neil with lessening sincerity seven, five, even three years ago echoed in his mind and slipped away, finding no place to hold on to.
Andrew makes what turns out to be a very easy decision.

Andrew pulled off his shoes and lined them up neatly in the designated shoe spot by the door that he could never quite get Neil to utilize. He quietly set his bag down on his desk to be dealt with later and headed toward the closed door. Finding it unlocked, he opened it slowly in case Neil was asleep, and promptly felt his brain disengage as all thoughts spilled from his mind.
Neil was reclined against a mound of pillows in bed yet very much not asleep. He was, in fact, staring back at Andrew with something like panic mixing in with the surprise on his very red face.
