Harry Potter is taken from the Dursleys doorstep, by Minerva McGonagall to Ireland to grow up away from the limelight, and the meddlesome interest of an old man with far too high an opinion of himself. Once Dumbledore finally retires, he comes to Hogwarts to start his NEWT studies. He meets another newcomer on the train, a muggleborn girl who was sent to France after her first burst of accidental magic. Where she lived with her relatives, that had some magic themselves. She transferred from Beauxbatons, to study Transfiguration and Charms at Hogwarts, subjects in which it still has a high reputation. She is intrigued by the charming Irish boy she meets on the train, and his rather weird ‘sister.’

Instead of handing Harry over to Hagrid, Sirius took him and fled to France. Thirteen years later and everyone agrees that the childhood friends, Fleur Delacour and Harry Potter, would make a fantastic couple, indeed both of them already act like they are a very devoted couple in almost all regards and they come across as in love to everyone. There is only one small problem.
They are the most oblivious people on the planet and sees everything, most especially anything involving each other, as non-romantic no matter how romantic it is and that fact is driving friends and family into alcoholism and/or insanity.
But surely the Triwizard Tournament and them being in a new environment will make them realize what has been in front of them the whole time, right?

She had hoped that going to Hogwarts and meeting fellow people like her would change that fate she had lived, but alas, she is as much an outcast in Gryffindor as she was in the Muggle world. That changed on October 31st when Harry Black, the pureblooded heir to the House of Black, single-handedly saved her from a troll. It was the start of a wonderful friendship that even now, two months later, was still going strong.
Even as Hermione goes deeper and deeper into the Old Ways, learning the truth of the world and magic as Harry and those around him see it, there is something constantly looming behind her, something she desperately tries to ignore. But that cannot last forever. The clock is ticking down towards the moment where that specter can no longer be ignored, cannot be outrun, where the moment of her destruction is at hand.
May the Ancestors Who Are Just help her and guard her.
